We are what we believe. That’s a phrase that I live by, I accept Jesus as my lord and savior. But unlike most Christians I do not go to church, haven’t gone in years. I went when I was younger and learned a lot but now I am at a point in my life where it’s time to spread the word, you can’t spread the word to people who have already heard it. I try to live my life the best I can and affect the people around me in a positive manner and I feel like I do a good job at that. Everybody was put on this earth with a purpose and it’s up to you to write the story to your life. Yes God has a plan for everyone and everyone has a purpose but his plan isn’t set in stone and in my eyes if you live a good life and find your purpose then altering his plan for you is not a big deal. Like I said write your own story.

Many times at work I have been told I need to find Jesus by random old ladies who pass judgment on me for the way I dress and because I have/like tattoos and because I have long hair. I usually don’t even waste the time to tell them that I am a religious person because even if I did they won’t stop judging and it’s an argument that cannot be won with that kind of person. God loves us all no matter what we look like, how we dress, what music we listen to, no matter what he loves you. We are his creations, he made us all different he made us to have flaws and the sooner we realize that none of us are perfect and that everyone sins, the better. It says right in the bible that none of us are perfect and that humans sin by nature as long as you recognize your sins and truly feel guilty for them and ask for forgiveness you will be forgiven.

Which brings me too another reason why I don’t go to church, I know in some faiths when you sin you have to confess to a priest and then he will ask God to forgive you. I really don’t understand that, if we are Gods children why can’t I speak to him myself and ask for his forgiveness on my own rather than going to a priest who will most likely pass judgment on me. That’s why I love my faith whenever I have a problem or I’ve sinned I can ask god for forgiveness myself.

I’m not saying I know everything about my faith and about other faiths because I don’t and if there’s anything you disagree with then let me know, tell me your views. I know my faith isn’t perfect and it has flaws but I follow and claim Jesus as my savior because that faith has helped me through a lot in life and it gives me hope.
